How to set up FlameProxies with Scrapy

Create a FlameProxies account, choose residential, static ISP, datacenter, IPv6 or mobile bandwidth, then open the proxy generator in your dashboard.

Generate the proxies you need
Select a country (and city where the pool supports it), choose rotating or sticky sessions, and copy the list. Every line comes back as proxy.flameproxies.com:8989:username:password, which is all the fields below ask for.

Load the proxies into Scrapy
Add the generated lines wherever Scrapy takes its proxy list - as separate host, port, username and password fields, or as a single http://username:[email protected]:8989 string, whichever format it expects.

Tune rotation and concurrency
Rotate on every request for wide crawls, or hold a sticky session where the target tracks a login or a cart. Raise concurrency gradually and keep a retry with backoff so one refused request does not end the run.

Confirm the exit IP before you work
Run the proxy test inside Scrapy if it has one, then load an IP lookup page through the connection. The country and ISP it reports should match what you generated - if it shows your own address, the traffic is not going through the proxy yet.

Will Scrapy rotate IPs on its own?
If you give it rotating credentials, every request leaves from a different address with no extra logic on your side. Use sticky sessions instead when a task needs several requests to share one IP.
